1 12–16 oz mug
1 Kettle or small saucepan
1 Spoon
1 Tea infuser (optional, for loose tea)
1 Measuring cup (helpful)
- 1 bag mint tea bag (peppermint or spearmint; herbal or green mint)
- 1 bag peach herbal tea bag (or peach tea)
- 3/4 cup hot water (very hot, not boiling hard)
- 3/4 cup lemonade (heated; store-bought or homemade)
- 1-2 tbsp honey (start with 1 tbsp, then adjust)
Optional Add-Ins
- 1 lemon slice
- 2-3 thin slices fresh ginger
- 1 small sprig fresh mint
Warm the mug: Fill your mug with hot water for 30 seconds, then pour it out.
Steep the tea: Add the mint tea bag and peach tea bag to the mug. Pour in 3/4 cup very hot water. Steep for 4 minutes, then remove the tea bags.
Heat the lemonade: While the tea steeps, heat 3/4 cup lemonade in a small saucepan or microwave until hot but not boiling.
Mix: Pour the hot lemonade into the brewed tea.
Sweeten: Add 1 tablespoon honey and stir until fully dissolved.
Taste and adjust: Add more honey for sweetness, or a splash of hot water if it tastes too sharp. If you want more tea flavor, steep an extra tea bag in a little hot water for 3–4 minutes and add it in.
Notes:
-
Don’t over-steep mint tea. It can turn sharp and mouth-drying.
-
Hot lemonade keeps the drink from turning lukewarm.
-
Stir honey into the hottest liquid so it blends evenly.
-
For a stronger mug, use two tea bags (not a longer steep).
Recipe Variations:
-
Caffeine-Free: Use herbal mint tea + peach herbal tea.
-
Lighter / Less Sweet: Use 1/2 lemonade + 1/2 hot water, and reduce honey.
-
Extra-Soothing: Add fresh ginger slices and a lemon slice.
-
Iced Version: Brew the tea strong, let it cool, then pour over ice. Use cold lemonade and sweeten while the tea is still warm so the honey dissolves.
